BOARD / COMMITTEES
Directors participate in decision making that affects day-to-day operations and guide the direction of the Co-op in the longer term. They are elected each year at the AGM to serve a one or two year term.
The Maintenance Committee works to help prioritize tasks / projects / budgets, ensures decisions are sustainable and manages / road-maps / project overlaps on subjects related to the structure, exterior/interior of buildings, building systems, i.e.: plumbing and electrical and vetting member alterations.
Our focus is to provide the Co-op and Board of Directors with enough financial / strategic and operational data to support sound business decisions based on historical, current and projected revenues and expenditures.
We are responsible for interviewing and orienting prospective members for the external wait list. The committee shows available units to both internal and external wait-listed families. Once external members have moved into the Co-op, the committee meets with them to ensure the move went well and answer questions.
Our committee strives to go beyond the City’s “Zero Waste” policies. We educate the Co-op community through articles in the newsletter and via notices, and soon to be signage around Misty Ridge. We also are responsible for all the bins at the front driveway.
The Parking Committee is responsible for administering parking resources. We ensure members are assigned their correct parking stall, co-ordinate moves, assist with temporary re-assignments and monitor no-parking violations.
The purpose of our committee is to share information with members regarding general meetings, committees, emergency contacts, procedures, local and co-op related stories & events.
This committee is responsible for preparing meals / gatherings for social events and work bees.
Join us to maintain and improve the appearance of the existing gardens, lawns and grounds around Misty Ridge. We hold work parties, coordinate services for irrigation and pruning, and manage a budget to pay for these services.
